Essential Lighting Test at Greenfield Medical Library - Friday 22 May, 8 - 9am

Users of the Greenfield Medical Library are advised that essential lighting tests will take place on Friday 22 May between 8am and 9am.

During this time, contractors will be working throughout the building to carry out testing. This will involve lighting being switched off and on in different zones across the library, which may cause disruption to study and general use of the space.

What to Expect

While the library will remain open, visitors should be aware that the testing process may create temporary interruptions to lighting conditions, making some areas less suitable for study during the two-hour window.

The work is part of ongoing preparations to support upcoming improvements to the library, helping ensure facilities are safe and fit for future upgrades.

Alternative Study Options

Students who would prefer a quieter or more consistent study environment during the testing period are encouraged to use alternative spaces, including:

  • A18 Computer Room
  • Other University libraries

Library staff apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate users’ understanding while this necessary work is carried out.

Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to speak to a member of library staff or get in touch via phone, email, or Live Chat.
